MARIBETH FAY - DIRECTOR + TODDLER TEACHER
Maribeth has been the Director at YCNS since 2005. She is very hands-on and has an open door policy, always welcoming feedback and suggestions on how to improve the YCNS environment. Maribeth's love for the school both as an alumni parent and now director truly shows in her dedication to the school.
As a teacher, Maribeth is warm and fun and encourages language development through play with the toddler class. She provides the perfect environment to introduce two-year-olds to the routine of a classroom, where they feel safe and comfortable. She introduces the children to projects that are both creative and academically based all the while encouraging the children's senses and fine motor skills. She will admit she does not mind making messes, which is a great asset in a class of two-year-olds!
Maribeth and her husband Michael live and raised their four boys in the Yorktown community.
AMY PERL - JUNIORS TEACHER
“Miss Amy” began as assistant teacher in the Toddler class in 2015. Amy is kind, warm and loving in her interactions with the children. Under her gentle guidance and support, the children develop social and communication skills essential at this young age. Her soft, sweet manner helps the children feel welcome, safe and comfortable in their first school experience. She and Miss Maribeth know that children’s work at this age is in the form of play and they strive to create an inspiring atmosphere where the children can explore and have fun!
Amy lives in Yorktown with her husband Chris and two daughters.
Allison Kaufman - Senior + mixed age Teacher
"Miss Allison" began teaching in the Junior Class in 2016. She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art at Binghamton University and obtained a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education from Long Island University. Before joining YCNS, Allison taught 2nd Grade in the New York City School District and Kindergarten and 1st Grade in the Katonah-Lewisboro School District. In addition to teaching, Allison owns a small Etsy business making personalized party favors and gifts and spends each summer working at her childhood day camp in Rockland County where she creates and implements the Art Program for children ages 3-15.

JULIE DeCOURSEY - SENIOR + MIXED-AGE TEACHER

She has babysat for local families since the age of 13, and she is a long-time caregiver for a former YCNS family. In addition, Julie worked with Miss Maribeth at Mini-Camp last summer.
